Google Pixel 8 unboxing videos leak before event
2 min read
We know when Google’s big Pixel 8 event is supposed to take place. We even know roughly what to expect from it. Even so, the leaks just keep coming.
This time, we’ve got a pair of quick unboxing videos courtesy of YouTube channel PBKreviews. In the form of two YouTube Shorts, PBKreviews posted unboxing videos for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro ahead of their Wednesday unveiling at the highly anticipated Google event. They’re brief 30-second videos with no narration, so there isn’t much information to glean from them, but they are interesting nonetheless.
As you can see, the Pixel 8 Pro comes with a USB-C cable, an adapter, and a small instruction manual. The box doesn’t seem to contain anything other than that, and that’s true of both phones if you also watch the Pixel 8 unboxing video.
What to expect from Google’s Pixel 8 event
There is one potentially juicy little nugget of info shared in the video’s comments (as noted by 9to5Google), which is that the new phones seem to use the same optical sensor for fingerprint scanning as their predecessors. Some Pixel fans have complained about slow or inaccurate fingerprint reading over the years and hoped Google would change its approach, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Either way, we’re running out of surprises with Pixel 8. In less than a day, there will be none left. Savor it now. By the way, if you want to catch the Google event for yourself, here’s a quick guide on how to watch it.
